SIDE 1: NUTRIENT AGAR WITH TTC
Nutrient agar is a general purpose agar medium containing two peptones that supports the growth of a wide variety of microorganisms. A small quantity of 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) is added to facilitate bacterial colony visualization. Bacterial colonies appear as red dots.

SIDE 2: MALT EXTRACT AGAR
Malt extract agar is recommended for the detection, isolation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds. The acidic pH of this medium suppresses bacterial growth and facilitates mycological evaluation.
